Vallejo Pons Francisco has been one of the most well known Chess prodigies, and is currently playing as an adult chess player. He started playing sat a very young age, and was the twentieth youngest chess player to have secured the title of a grandmaster. His age was precisely sixteen years and nine months when he won this prestigious recognition that besides making him a legend also was to take his confidence and career up to new heights. A few years later, he made another history by winning the 2000 world chess championship for youths under 18.

Vallejo Pons Francisco was born on 21st of august 1982, in a small municipal province called the Es Castell which is located in the eastern part of Minorca. His current FIDE rating is a whooping 2711, which took him to the 26th number on FIDE rating list as on November 2009). 2711, has been his highest FIDE rating so far, though going by the progress this genius is making, Vallejo Pons Francisco should be able to beat his own records soon. He currently plays for Spain and is 27 years old.

Called as Paco by friends and fans, (a common Spanish nickname for the name Francisco), has played a number of national and international tournaments till date, including the famous February 2006 SuperGM Linares-Morelia game where he brilliantly defeated the FIDE World Championship title holder Veselin Topalov in mere 56 moves.
