Arkadij Naiditsch – the youngest German master

Arkadij Naiditsch, age 24, is a German chess Grandmaster who was born in Riga, Latvia on 25th October, 1985. His FIDE ranking is 45 in November 2009 and Peak rating is 2700 in April 2009.

Arkadij Naiditsch, originally from Latvia, settled in Germany, and became the youngest ever Grandmaster from Germany in 2001.

In 2002, he drew in an eight game match with the former Candidates’ finalist Jan Timman in Dortmund. His best tournament success so far is his brilliant first at Dortmund in 2005, when he emerged higher than famous players like Peter Leko, Michael Adams, Vladimir Kramnik, Peter Svidler, Veselin Topalov, Etienne Bacrot and others.

Naiditsch won the German national championship in Ghert in 2007.
