Dmitry Andreikin made Russia proud
Dmitry Andreikin, Russian Junior Champion, was born in Ryazan, Russia, near Moscow. Although he may not be the best known player outside Russia, coming as he does from the budding Russian talents hotbed, he has an impressive record of achievements. He is the current Junior World No. 9, Under-10 World Champion in Spain in 1999, winner of a number of Opens, he also clinched the highly coveted Junior Russian Champion title in 2009 and 2010 in quick succession.
Andreikin won the Biel Blitz Chess Tournament, a part of the Biel Bienne Chess Festival in 2010. With 11.0 points, he finished at the top ahead of Grandmasters Michael Roiz and Fabiano Caruana.
