Evgeniy Najer – US open chess player

Evgeniy Najer, age 33, is a chess Grandmaster from Russia, born in Moscow on 22nd June, 1977. His FIDE ranking is 59 on November 2009, and Peak rating 2682 on October 2008.

At the Open US Chess Championship in 2002, Evgeniy was the joint winner with Zaichik, and in 2003 he won the City Chess Moscow Championship.

Evgeniy tied with Artyom Timofeev, Kaido Kulaots, Oleg Korneev, Sergey Grigoriants and Zoltan Gyimesi at the Cappelle Grande Open in 2004. In the same year, he tied for 1st-3rd with Leonid Gofshtein and Michael Roiz in the Chess Festival at Ashdod. In 2007, he tied for 1st-2nd with Vasily Yemelin in the 3rd Moscow Open tournament.

Evgeniy won the World Open in 2008 & 2009 in Philadelphia.

In July 2009, he tied for the first in the Open Tournament in Paleohora with Robert Fontaine. This year, he tied with Victor Mikhalevski, Jiri Stocek and Michael Adams in the Fourteenth Chicago Open.

In 2009, Evgeniy was a second of Gata Kamsky in his match against Topalov.
