Kasimdzhanov Rustam – The Uzbec Chess Sensation

Kasimdzhanov Rustam, born in Uzbekistan, is one of the finest chess players in the world. He currently holds the respected title of a ‘Grandmaster’ and lives up to it with an FIDE rating of 2699 (as on may 2010). The highest FIDE rating through his career till date has been a staggering 2706.

Kasimdzhanov Rustam was born in Tashkent, in December 1979. He started playing at a very young age, and has been one of the shining stars in the competitive world of chess ever since he won the prestigious Asian championship. This was immediately followed by his securing the victorious title of the second world junior chess champion in the year 1999, which boosted his confidence and carrier like never before. Needless to say, Kasimdzhanov Rustam only had to get better and go further with the list of achievements.
